Women Who Build is run by EM Designs LLC. This page explains what we collect when you apply, join, or use the app, why we collect it, who else sees it, and how to get it back or get it deleted. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
What we collect
Only what the program actually needs, and all of it comes from you.
- When you apply: your first and last name, email address, what you are building, why you want to join, the challenges you picked, and any links you choose to share such as LinkedIn or your product.
- When you book an intro call: the time slot you choose.
- When you create an account: your name, email address, and either a password or a Google sign in. We never see your Google password.
- While you are a member: your launch plan and goals, weekly check ins, milestones, messages in your pod, posts on the discussion board, and wins you choose to share.
- If you play one of our free tools such as the launch quiz: your answers, and your email address if you ask for the results.
- When you pay: the date, the amount, and an identifier from Stripe. See the payment section below.
Why we collect it
To decide together whether the program is right for you, to run it, and to keep in touch about it. Concretely, that means building your launch plan, pairing you with an accountability pod, sending you session reminders and check in nudges, and letting other members see the things you deliberately share with them.
We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not hand it to advertisers. There is no advertising on this product.
What other members can see
This is a small group, and the point of it is that people know what you are working on. Your name, your profile, any links you added, and anything you post in a pod, on the discussion board, or as a win are visible to other members of your community. Your check ins and your progress are visible to your pod and to the facilitators.
Your email address, your application answers, and your payment record are not shown to other members. Those are visible only to the facilitators who run the program.
Payment, and why we never see your card
Payments are handled entirely by Stripe on their own secure page. Your card number never touches our servers and we could not see it if we wanted to. What we store is the fact that a payment succeeded, when it happened, how much it was for, and an identifier Stripe gives us so the two records can be matched.
Who else processes your information
We use a small number of established services to actually run the thing. Each one sees only what it needs to do its job, and each is bound by its own agreement with us.
- Supabase, which stores the database and handles sign in.
- Vercel, which hosts the site and the app.
- Stripe, which processes payments.
- Resend, which delivers our email.
- Google, only if you choose to sign in with a Google account.
- Zoom, which hosts the weekly live sessions.
We will also disclose information if the law genuinely requires it, and we would tell you unless we were forbidden from doing so.
What we do not do
- We do not run analytics or tracking software on this site. There are no third party trackers and no advertising pixels.
- We do not sell or rent your information to anyone, for any price.
- We do not use what you share inside the community to train anything, or publish it outside the community, without asking you first.
How it is kept safe
Everything travels over an encrypted connection and is stored encrypted at rest. Access to member records is restricted at the database level, so the app can only read rows you are entitled to see, and administrative access is limited to the two people who run the program. Payment credentials are never in our possession at all.
No system is perfect, and we would rather say that than promise otherwise. If something ever went wrong in a way that affected you, we would tell you.
How long we keep it
While you are a member, and for as long afterwards as you leave your account open, because people come back. If you ask us to delete your account we will remove your personal information within thirty days. Some records have to survive that, notably payment and tax records, which we are legally required to retain.
Your choices
- You can see and edit most of your information yourself, from your profile in the app.
- You can ask for a copy of everything we hold about you.
- You can ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
- You can ask us to delete your account and your personal information.
- You can unsubscribe from program email at any time, though while you are an active member some messages are part of the service itself.
To do any of these, write to hello@womenwhobuild.app. We will not make it difficult.
Children
This program is for adults building businesses. It is not intended for anyone under eighteen, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under eighteen.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything meaningful here we will update the date at the top of this page and, when the change actually affects you, email you about it rather than hoping you check.
